UEA Mini Meet - Saturday 21st January 2012
This evening Gala was another of the UEA's very popular Mini Meets organised for 6-13 years old swimmers from Novice and Development Sqauds. 11 Girls and 15 Boys from Dereham Otters entered a maximum of 5 races from 25m or 50m Free, Back, Breast and Fly and 100m I.M. (Swimmers were only able to enter one race of each stroke). There was lots of tough competition from 6 different Norfolk Clubs and up to 16 entries in each age group category for some distances.
Age group Categories were as follows 6-8 years, 9 years, 10years and 11-13 years. Dereham swimmers, some of which were competing for the very first time, notched up over 50 Pb's between them. Out of a possible 40 Medals of each type up for grabs (Gold, Silver and Bronze) during the evening, Dereham Otters came away 21 Golds, 20 Silvers and 12 Bronze Medals. A huge well done to all our Otters who took part and swam such fabulous races.

Bussens & Parkin Novice Trophy Gala
This was held at Mildenhall on Saturday 28th May and many of our younger swimmwers up to age 11 took part.
The team notched up 26 Pbs out of 31 individual races and won the squadron relay at the end, a terrific achievement.
This was a cut off Gala and if any swimmer swam faster than the cut off time they did not score points for the team.
Despite 5 Otters swimming faster than the cut off time in their races, Dereham Otters still came home with the winning trophy.
The final scores were
Dereham 91points
Newmarket 85points
Mildenhall 83points
At the end of the Gala gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded for each race.

West Norfolk Spring Open - Sunday 22nd May
With 46 Pbs Dereham Otters were the second highest scoring visiting team at Kings Lynn and our swimmers came home with the following medals
5 - Golds
6 - Silvers
7 - Bronzes
11 - 4th Place
9 - 5th Place
9 - 6th Place

Breckland Cup
Victory went to the Dereham Otters in this close fought annual competition.
Great swimming from two Otters teams saw us lift the trophy at Dereham pool on Sat 8th May.
Final scores were as follows
Dereham A 216 points
West Norfolk 195 points
Norwich Swans 153 points
Beccles 145 points
Dereham B 123 points
North Norfolk 84 points

Junior League - Round 2
What a tremendous effort from our younger swimmers at Wymondham on 9th April, despite several of our swimmers away at the Peterborough Open.

County Relay Gala
Saturday 26th March at UEA
Dereham Otters fought hard in this truly group effort, fielding two teams in many events.

Thetford Open
Sunday 6th February
Twenty Otters competed in this gala and the team were 5th best visiting
club out of 17 clubs in total. Trophies and shields were given to top 6
places and our swimmers achieved the following:-
3 first places : 3 seconds : 7 thirds : 8 fourths : 5 fiths : 4 sixth places.

Mendis Trophy Gala
Saturday 29th January
Dereham Otters "raced" to victory at the annual Mendis Trophy Gala held at Wisbech. The scores were as follows:-

UEA Mini Meet
Saturday 22nd January
Twelve of our junior Otters competed in this event and produced some
fantastic swims. Between them they achieved 25 Pbs and came home with 11
Gold, 10 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals. The full results can be viewed here and congratulations to you all.

City of Cambridge Winter Short Course Meet
Friday 14th, Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th January
Fifteen of our swimmers competed in this Level 2 Meet achieving 28 Pbs between them.

Ipswich Open
Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th January
The first Gala of the New Year saw nine Otters travelling to Ipswich.

Iceni 2010
After a long day in the pool, loads of swimmers got P.B's, trophies and 5
Iceni records went. Well done to Joseph Hobson, Adam Crafer, Sophie
Green, Keely Empson and Daniel Smith who all got Iceni records. Also,
congratulations go to Adam Crafer and Dominic Scifo who achieved top boy
and Niamh Adcock who achieved top girl. The top away club award was won
by UEA C.O.N (a full break down of points per club can be found here .) A full set of results can be found here . Thanks go to all Officials and helpers that made the day go so well.
