Dereham Otters Shine!

Sportspark, UEA Norwich — 15th–16th November 2025

Dereham Otters Swimming Club delivered one of its most spirited and successful performances in recent memory at the November Short Course Meet, held at the Sportspark, UEA Norwich on 15th–16th November 2025. The atmosphere throughout the weekend was lively and supportive, both poolside and among families following the action.

The racing itself was fast, competitive, and full of determination. Swimmers from every squad pushed themselves and each other, resulting in an impressive 70 personal bests, with 109 swims completed across the two-day meet. Younger swimmers stepped up confidently in their 50 m and 100 m events, while more experienced squad members demonstrated strong technique and powerful finishes.

Medals were well earned throughout the weekend:
Gold: 4
Silver: 4
Bronze: 10

Head Coach, Sam Watts commented on the pride felt across the coaching team:
“Our swimmers had a great time — the atmosphere, the teamwork, and the determination on display reflect everything we strive for: excellence in performance and a supportive, fun environment. I couldn’t be more proud.”

Parents expressed pride online and swimmers shared their achievements on social media, celebrating personal milestones. One parent summed up the event: “Such an amazing weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.”

Gratitude was also extended to the volunteers, officials, and parents whose support ensured the meet ran smoothly, as well as to the swimmers for their hard work, sportsmanship, and positive attitude.

The club now moves into its next training block with excitement and confidence, buoyed by the momentum of this successful meet. Dereham Otters Swimming Club remains dedicated to the development and improvement of young swimmers, providing a nurturing and supportive environment where talent is cultivated and potential is unlocked.
