Harry and Marnie at Summer Mini Meet

Dereham Otters enjoyed a fantastic Summer Mini Meet, with swimmers producing a host of excellent performances, personal bests, and medal-winning swims. Across 89 swims, the team delivered an impressive 44 personal bests and collected 44 medals in total, made up of 15 gold, 14 silver, and 15 bronze. The atmosphere throughout the competition was positive and supportive, with swimmers demonstrating the hard work and commitment they have shown in training. It was particularly pleasing to see so many athletes challenging themselves and achieving new milestones as they continue their development.

One of the standout performances came from Marnie Palmer, who made a remarkable return to competition after spending four weeks out of the pool through injury. Despite the disruption to her training, Marnie showed tremendous determination and resilience, producing an outstanding 20-second personal best. Her performance is a testament to her positive attitude and dedication, and everyone at the club is delighted to see her back racing so strongly.

Another swimmer deserving special recognition is Harry Hyett, who enjoyed a highly successful meet and was rewarded with bronze medals for his efforts. Harry raced with confidence and composure throughout the weekend, demonstrating the progress he has made in training. His medal-winning performances were thoroughly deserved and contributed to an excellent overall showing by the Dereham Otters squad. The coaching team is incredibly proud of all swimmers who competed and looks forward to building on these performances in the months ahead.
