Smith Siblings Lead Dereham Otters to Success at Cambridge Open Meet

Brother and sister Logan and Lakota Smith led the way as Dereham Otters produced an impressive set of performances at last weekend's Cambridge Open Meet, despite taking only a small team of five to the competition.
The team enjoyed an outstanding weekend in the pool, recording an impressive 23 personal bests from 32 swims, highlighting the hard work being put in during training and progress being made across the squad.
Logan, 14, enjoyed a superb weekend, winning gold medals in both the 50m and 200m breaststroke events. Swimming with confidence and executing his race plans to perfection, he secured a deserved double gold against strong opposition.
His sister, Lakota, 11, also had an exceptional meet, recording two remarkable personal bests. She took 30 seconds off her 200m breaststroke time before producing another huge improvement of 26 seconds in the 200m backstroke, highlighting the progress she has made through her commitment and hard work in training.
Although small in numbers, every Dereham Otters swimmer represented the club with determination, professionalism and excellent team spirit, producing encouraging results and demonstrating the progress being made throughout the season.
Head coach said: "I'm immensely proud of the entire team. They may have been small in numbers, but they were huge in determination. The performances at Cambridge reflected the hard work everyone has been putting in during training, and it's fantastic to see that progress rewarded. We're looking forward to seeing everyone continue to develop throughout the rest of the season."
