Warwick Thompson Swimming Gala

A small but determined team of 17 Dereham Otters swimmers made a splash at the Warwick Thompson Swimming Gala, held at Thetford Swimming Pool on 22nd and 23rd February. Many of the squad members came from the club’s development squads, and for some, this was their first-ever gala experience.
The young swimmers showed great promise and determination throughout the gala securing 16 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals and 5 Bronze Medals!
Among the standout performances was Logan Smith, who swam consistently well across all his races and won a medal in every race he entered. Then there was Elinor Riglar, one of the club’s senior swimmers, who achieved personal bests (PBs) in every event she swam, demonstrating her dedication and commitment to training. And last, but by no means least, was Lakota Smith, the youngest member of the competing squad, who impressed coaches and spectators alike with a fearless approach, taking part in every event at her first external club gala displaying willingness, persistence and resilience.
Well done to all the Otters who competed—your hard work and determination continue to inspire!
